OUGD501 / Context Of Practice / Research / Ed Fella / Postmodern practice

Simply visiting Ed Fella's website is a surreal experience.
The extravagant use of skeumorphism is that typical of Post Modern practice,
as well as playful, expressive and beyond vernacular typography.

His work is evident of a Post Modern practice, evidently it somewhat resembling the aesthetic featured earlier in my research; The Pretty ugly. Working against the social constraints of 'Good Design' may limit commercial application but it innovates the industry; Fella's impact is evident by the fact I am mentioning here, even though I have never been to his work in a
commercial environment.

Hand illustrated typography here resembles that of the contemporary visual language,
created through the skewing of digital type.
